Source2Create’s Event Code of Conduct
Whilst we aim to ensure everyone has a great time and gets the most out of our events, it is also important that we ensure there are a few guidelines in place to make Source2Create’s events an awesome experience for all attendees.
Source2Create is intent on creating quality events within safe and respectful environments for all attendees to share knowledge, express their thoughts and opinions and network.
Our code of conduct requires all attendees and stakeholders to act in a manner that is harassment-free and respectful of people in a public environment, regardless of their gender, intersectionality, race, ability, ethnicity, sexual orientation/ identity, creed, age or social status.
The code of conduct requires that speakers’ presentations and content offered in the various formats within our events are respectful and devoid of content/images of a sexual or discriminatory nature.
The code of conduct also extends to:
- inappropriate approaches of a sexual nature and aggressive behaviour
- offensive comments, questions or posts made on event engagement technology, social media or any other online media platforms
It is our expectation that attendees will act in a responsible manner in regard to alcohol consumption.
It is our expectation that attendees will act in a safe and responsible manner in respect to being healthy and well while attending events and in accordance with COVID19 public health guidelines.
Any attendee that is deemed to be violating the code of conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from our event without refund, at the discretion of the organisers.
- This code of conduct applies to all events organized by Source2Create Pty Ltd, Australia & New Zealand Inc.
- By registering for and/or attending any event, attendees agree to comply with this Code of Conduct and accept all of its conditions.
- Any failure to comply with or breach of the Code of Conduct may result in:
- Immediate cancellation of your sponsorship or ticket, with no refund (where applicable) for tickets or any other associated costs;
- Ejection from the event; and
- A ban from future Source2Create events.
- Attendees must abide by any rules, terms, or conditions outlined by the venue, irrespective of whether the said rules are expressed verbally or in writing, in addition to their obligations under this code of conduct.
- Attendees are required to adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and by-laws regarding the use of venue and behaviour at events.
- Attendees participating in the aforementioned or other dangerous and/or illegal activities will be ejected from the event.
- Respect and consideration must always be given to other attendees and any members of the general public. Rudeness, use of indecent language and other obscenities will not be tolerated and may result in being ejected from the event.
- Behaviour involving discrimination on the basis of gender, intersectionality, race, ability, ethnicity, sexual orientation/ identity, creed, age or social status will not be tolerated and may result in the offender being ejected from the event.
- Every due care has been taken to ensure the venue is safe. Attendees agree that Source2Create, its management, volunteers and members are not responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or injury that occurs during any event. Attendees are responsible for their individual actions and any repercussions that may result.
- Venue-organised security at events is there to ensure the safety of attendees, venue staff, volunteers and the venue. Attendees agree that security personnel may eject them from any event for endangering the safety of other attendees, staff, volunteers, venue or themselves or for breaching this Code of Conduct.
Who is our Code of Conduct for?
- This code of conduct is for all Sponsors, Speakers, Leaders, Participants, Ambassadors, Volunteers, Event participants and anyone involved with Source2Create. Should you have any questions or concerns, please email aby@source2create.com.au.
Why do we need a Code of Conduct?
- At Source2Create, we run events comprised of sponsors, speakers and attendees from diverse backgrounds, organisations, and lived experiences. Harassment and hostile behaviour are not welcome at the Source2Create events.
- Source2Create is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone engaging with Source2Create online, at events or otherwise, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, political affiliation, nationality, language, or religion.
What is harassment?
- Harassment includes but is not limited to: verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination (related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, etc); sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; unwelcome sexual attention; and advocating for or encouraging any of the above behaviour.
The code of conduct is required for all representatives of Source2Create’s network but also extends to:
- Any inappropriate approaches of a sexual nature and aggressive behaviour.
- Offensive questions, comments, statements, or posts made on any Source2Create events through social media platforms.
What is the Source2Create protocol for conflict resolution?
Source2Create follows the conflict resolution process of reporting incidents immediately or escalating it through the conflict resolution framework.
Please see below the process:
Anyone can report if you believe someone is breaching Source2Create’s code of conduct. Please follow the steps below:
Report
Please report immediately to a local event organiser (at an event) or Source2Create representative if you are being disrespected, feel unsafe or being harassed, or if you notice that someone else is being harassed.
Escalate
Please escalate and report to Source2Create by email or informing one of our Source2Create representatives.

When escalating the issue, please provide as much detail as possible in regards to the incident.
Please include the following:
Contact Details:
- Your name.
- Email.
- Phone or Mobile.
Incident Details:
- The date the event occurred.
- The time the event occurred.
- Where it occurred.
- Do you know the person who was involved?
- Were there any witnesses? If so, please state their details.
Remediation:
- What is the outcome you are expecting?
- How can Source2Create support you through this process?
Resolve
Source2Create’s team will require anyone engaging in harassing behaviour to cease immediately as that is a breach of what Source2Create’s organisation represents. Those sanctions can include reporting to the individual’s organisation and supporting the victim in making informal or formal complaints via that organisation’s processes.
Source2Create is committed to ensuring that you and other attendees experience a positive, enjoyable, and inclusive event when we are hosting events.
We strive to be an organization that is respectful, empathetic, and understanding when people are reporting unacceptable behaviour.
We will acknowledge your report and reply by phone or email. If an incident results in corrective action, Source2Create will do its best to support those harmed by the incident, both publicly (where appropriate) and privately.
Our resolution process is as follows:
- We will acknowledge your report and reply via email within 48 hours.
- We will perform a thorough investigation within 5 business days. We will keep it wholly professional, and confidential.
- We will treat all the people involved fairly and objectively, irrespective of what our relationship is with them.
- We will take appropriate action e.g. issue warnings, give direction to learning resources on the topic of harassment, bullying or anti-social behaviour, enforce temporary or permanent suspensions.
- We will take into consideration your wishes in any enforcement of the Code of Conduct.
- We will suggest measures we can take to ensure incidents of this nature do not reoccur at future events and implement those which are appropriate to the specific event.
- We reserve the right to remove people from the event or prevent people from joining the event.
- We will not name and shame individuals, but we will analyse our progress with regards to unacceptable behaviour and publish our findings annually on our website.
